Even though there is no clarity about the resumption of cricket in India due to Coronavirus pandemic, top cricketers are slowly but steadily resuming their training.

After Test specialist Cheteshwar Pujara, speedster Ishant Sharma stepped out and performed light physical exercise after a lengthy COVID-19 hiatus.

Taking to Instagram, Ishant on Tuesday (June 23) shared a photo and videos of his training session.

In the clips, the lanky pacer can be seen practising warm-up drills and some basic training.

“Engaging myself with positivity and practicing while maintaining social distancing,” he captioned the video.

Even though the central government and sports ministry have given a go-ahead signal for sportspersons to resume training at empty stadiums, the Indian cricket team is yet to hit the ground running with a proper national camp because of some of the travelling restrictions that are still in place.

While there is no clarity on India’s next fixture yet, one thing is certain that the team will tour Australia later this year to play four Tests, three ODIs and three T20Is.

Given that Ishant only plays the longest format, he will be seen in action during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy down under, starting December 3 at Gabba.
