Warner thanked one Bengaluru student as well for his work during the pandemic.

Australia opener David Warner thanked an Indian student, Shreyas Sresth for his contribution to society during the COVID-19 pandemic. Hailing from Bengaluru, Shreyas stays in Australia and he is pursuing Computer Science at the University of Queensland.

Warner acknowledged Shreyas' work during the pandemic and shared a message through video expressing his gratitude.

“Good day, namaste. I am here to thank Shreyas Sresth for selfless work during COVID 19. Shreyas is doing his Masters in Computer Science at the University of Queensland. He is a part of the University’s outreach program preparing and delivering food packets to students in need right now,” Warner said in the video. 

“So, I just wanted to say, good on ya, I am sure your mum, dad, and India is proud of you. Keep up the great work, because we are all in this together,” he added.

Earlier, ex-Australia cricketer, Adam Gilchrist had thanked a Kerala student nurse in Australia for her invaluable work in the pandemic.

“Hi. I am Adam Gilchrist. I was delighted to hear about the act of kindness by Sharon Vergese, an Indian student, studying in Australia. Sharon is an a student of University of Wollongong and during the Covid-19 pandemic, she gave up her time to act as an age-care worker. 

“Sharon I wanted to say congratulations on your selfless act and wanting to thank people of Australia because you have enjoyed three and a half years living here, that’s wonderful to hear. All of Australia, all of India and more importantly, your family will be so very proud of your efforts. Congratulations, thank you and please keep it up, we are all in this together.”, he said.
