IN PICS: Virender Sehwag and his family prepare food for migrant workers

Sehwag launched a 'Ghar Se Seva' campaign to help migrant laborers.

The ongoing nationwide COVID-19 lockdown due to the global Coronavirus pandemic has led to cruel circumstances in India, especially for the migrant workers who are facing multiple hardships apart from battling hunger and heat amid the partial lockdown in the country.

India’s countrywide lockdown has badly affected the livelihoods of millions of daily wagers and migrant laborers who are fighting for survival, leaving lakhs of informal workers jobless, while several migrant workers are stranded.

During this COVID-19 lockdown, several migrant workers are on the road with hoping to somehow reach their villages on foot, the other side some are starved to death during this ongoing Coronavirus crisis.

However, amid this testing time, several NGOs, volunteers, and civil society organizations are trying hard that no one goes to bed hungry, and former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag is one of those heroes.

The legendary cricketer continuously doing his bit in this challenging time, as he has now turned cook for the needy stranded migrants to help them out during the lockdown.

India’s World Cup champion and his Sehwag Foundation are continually distributing food among the needy, as they launched a 'Ghar Se Seva' campaign to help migrant laborers amid the lockdown.

Well, this time entire Sehwag family joined the cricketer in this humanitarian cause, as the former opener’s wife Aarti, mother Krishna Sehwag, and children Aryavir and Vedant have joined him to prepare food for the migrant laborers during this tough time.

Sehwag also shared a series of heartwarming pictures on social media and urged his fans and followers to join his initiative to help the needy with the help of his foundation during this crisis.

He wrote on Instagram: “The satisfaction of cooking and packing food from the comfort of your own homes and getting it distributed to the neediest migrant laborers in these times is a satisfaction few things can match. If you would like to contribute by making good for 100 people from your own home please DM on Twitter to @sehwagfoundatn”
