Amphan is only the second super cyclone to make landfall in India.
Indian states of Odisha and West Bengal bore the brunt of 185 kmph wind speeds. After wreaking havoc, it moved north-northeastwards with a speed of 27 kmph during the past 6 hours, further weakened into a cyclonic storm & lay centered over Bangladesh.
It has left both Bengal and Odisha assessing the damage, given that it came at a time when the world and India, in particular, are struggling with the adverse effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Many political leaders and people of prominence shared the anguish and prayers for the people affected by the super cyclone, and the members of the Indian cricketing fraternity also took to Twitter to pray for all the lives lost and affected by this natural disaster.
Here are some of the tweets from Indian cricketers filled with concern and prayers for the victims of super cyclone Amphan.
