Taking to Instagram, Kohli posted the photo in which he can be seen taking an acrobatic catch at second slip while Pujara, standing at first slip, watches him closely.
"First session after lockdown be like @cheteshwar_pujara I hope you will go for the ball pujji," the Indian captain wrote in the caption.
"Yes captain, and I shall catch it with both hands @virat.kohli," Pujara replied.
All the sporting activities have come to a grinding halt in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak, which has claimed more than 250,000 lives globally thus far.
Most of the countries have been in total lockdown for more than a month now to contain the spread of this deadly virus. It has been over 50 days since any form of domestic or international cricket was last played.
Under normal circumstances, Kohli would have been captaining Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which has now been suspended until further notice.
Pujara, on the other hand, was supposed to play first six matches of the County Championship for Gloucestershire but now the deal has been called off due to the ongoing pandemic.
