With no international or domestic cricket going on due to COVID-19 outbreak, former/current cricketers and commentators are keeping themselves busy with different activities.

While some are engaging with fans on social media, some are picking their all-time XIs and favourite players from the past and modern-day cricket.

On Monday (April 27), veteran commentator Harsha Bhogle named his favourite Indian captain during a live session with former South African all-rounder Shaun Pollock.

The official handle of ICC posted a clip on Twitter in which the host asked Harsha to pick his favourite Indian captain of all time.

While answering the query, the 58-year-old said India has produced a number of good leaders in the last two decades in the form of Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid Anil Kumble, MS Dhoni and now Virat Kohli.

But Bhogle eventually went with Ganguly, citing that the latter changed the face of Indian cricket just like Allan Border did it for Australia.

“India has been very blessed with captains in the last 20 years. Coming out of that whole match-fixing phase, when you wanted a dynamic and in-your-face captain, you had a Ganguly. Not much talked about, Rahul Dravid’s record for two years as captain was excellent,” Harsha remarked.

“Then you had, during that terrible Sydney Test match, Anil Kumble’s strong presence there. Then Dhoni, now Kohli. We have actually been lucky but I think in many ways as the Aussies talk about Allan Border as someone who changed their cricket, we talk about Sourav Ganguly,” he added.
