The rivalry between India and Pakistan on the cricket field transcends that of the Ashes between Australia and England. From who is the better all-rounder between Kapil Dev and Imran Khan to the modern comparison between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, there has always been a debate between the fans of two sides.

India has had the upper hands in ICC tournaments over Pakistan, especially the World Cups as Pakistan has never beaten India in any World Cup, be it the 50-over or 20-over affair. However, overall, the Pakistani side is ahead in numbers with 12 wins in 59 Tests between the two sides and 73 wins in 132 ODI matches.

Ashish Nehra says this Indian cricketer was "More famous than Imran Khan" in Pakistani fans

Imran Khan captained Pakistan for most of the 1980s when India and Pakistan played regularly and he mentions that he felt sorry for the Indian team of those times as they were beaten so many times by his team. The Pakistan PM also revealed that India’s captain would be looking scared during the toss itself.

I used to feel sorry for the Indian team because we beat them so often. They were under a lot of pressure. When I used to go to toss with their captain, I’d look at his face & he would be looking scared. Our rivals in those days weren’t India,” said Imran Khan as quoted by PakPassion Editor Saj Sadiq.

Thanks to the political tension between the two nations, India and Pakistan have not played a bilateral series since 2012-13 and a Test series since 2007.
