WATCH- Sachin Tendulkar reveals how Mohammad Kaif was nicknamed "Bhai Sahab"

The Road Safety World Series was called off after four games due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar has recalled a funny incident from the recent Road Safety World Series in where he captained India legends and he gave a new name to his former teammate Mohammad Kaif.

Kaif was known for his electric fielding during his playing days and had been credited to revolutionize the Indian cricket team’s fielding standards and set a new benchmark for the generations along with former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh.

Kaif is undoubtedly one of the greatest fielders India has ever produced and the cricket commentator even now is an extremely fit and agile athlete at 39 and he was again got the opportunity to show his skills during the Road World Safety Series which was canceled due to COVID-19 pandemic.

During the series, Kaif was seen giving his all efforts and yet again left in awe for the cricketer’s outstanding efforts in the field despite being 39 – which prompted Tendulkar to warn his former India teammate to remain cautious and tone down his athleticism given the game.

The legendary batsman further revealed that he nicknamed Kaif “Bhai Sahab” while applauding him for his incredible fielding skills and efforts even at this age.

In a YouTube video, Tendulkar was quoted as saying by Times of India about Kaif: “We had to tell Kaif to be cautious. We nicknamed him ‘Bhai Sahab, Bhai Sahab, Thoda sambhalke.’ It’s the first match of the tournament and there are a lot of matches to be played.”

He signed off by saying, “What if you pull a hamstring or something. It (diving and fielding quickly) comes naturally to him. He thinks if you are fit, you continue doing those things. He was a really fit guy. He was an outstanding fielder in the team.”
