Indian cricket fraternity wishes the nation on 71st Republic Day

The Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 and hence it is celebrated as Republic Day.

January 26 is the day India celebrates its Republic Day. It honors the date on which the Constitution of India came into effect on 26 January 1950 replacing the Government of India Act (1935) as the governing document of India.

The Constitution was adopted by the Indian Constituent Assembly on 26 November 1949 and came into effect on January 26, 1950. It sees a Republic Day parade is organized by the Ministry of Defense in the capital city of Delhi. The parade showcases India's Defence Capability, Cultural and Social Heritage.

President of India Shri. Ramnath Kovind presides over the function with Republic Day parade chief guest, the President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro.

The Indian cricket fraternity too was in a patriotic mood and took to Twitter to wish the nation on India’s 71^st Republic Day.
