The Punjab left-hander played 40 Tests, 304 ODIs and 58 T20Is for the Indian team in a career that spanned from 2000-2017. He also made 1900 Test, 8701 ODIs and 1177 T20I runs with a total of 17 centuries to his name. He is widely regarded as one of the all-time greatest ODI batsmen of his era. His life is an inspiration for all given that he beat cancer to make a comeback into the Indian team. The left-hander had won the Man of the Tournament in the 2011 World Cup which was won by India.
