Manjrekar tried to be cheeky with his take on the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.
Cricket commentator Sanjay Manjrekar, who mostly tweets about cricket, took a bitter jibe at Indian National Congress (INC) after their humiliating defeat in Lok Sabha election.
Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) won 303 seats alone. The opposition Congress could only win 52 seats.
The INC president Rahul Gandhi is often mocked as Pappu for his silly speeches. While whole social media was after him, Manjrekar too tried to troll Rahul.
His tweet came as a surprise for many. The tweet had pun which wasn't too subtle to miss. "Cricketing equivalent of BJP win is India beating Papu New Guinea," he wrote.
Manjrekar did it intentionally and he was succeeded in making his tweet reach the other side of Twitter, the policial side. It got almost 5k likes.
