Harmanpreet Kaur took a stunning catch to dismiss her India teammate Smriti Mandhana during her team Sydney Thunder’s Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2018-19 encounter against the Hobart Hurricanes on Friday (December 21) at Manuka Oval, Canberra.

In Canberra, Harmanpreet ended Mandhana's innings in spectacular fashion as the opener was looking in a good rhythm with the bat, having scored 29 off 22 balls including 2 boundaries and a maximum and having given a solid start to Hurricanes, but Indian T20 skipper took a brilliant catch to send her back.

Mandhana went ahead to play an aerial shot straight down the ground off the Australian fast-bowler Rene Farrell delivery, as she was looking for another boundary.

But the stroke wasn’t well timed and the ball flew over the mid-on, where Harmanpreet was fielding and she jumped perfectly to took a fine catch and sent her national deputy back to the pavilion with 29 scores for Hobart in Canberra.

She could be dangerous for Thunder given her strike rate of around 132 but Harmanpreet denying her from scoring big runs to contribute in her team’s 6 wickets victory over Hurricanes on Friday.

However, the Indian star could not contribute much with the bat, as she managed only 13 runs, hitting two fours before being dismissed by Heather Knight off Sasha Moloney delivery against Hurricanes.

Now, Sydney Thunder Women will next take on the same opponent Hobart Hurricanes Women in the 29th match of the WBBL at Sydney Showground Stadium on December 24.
