Ajit Agarkar has 288 wickets in ODI for Indian team.
Agarkar made his debut for India in 1998 against Australia at the age of 20 and went on to become the then fastest to 50 ODI wickets. However, injuries and inconsistent form made him unable to hold onto a place in the Indian team. Agarkar picked 6-wicket hauls against Australia in both Tests and ODIs on the 2003-04 tour down under.
He was also a brilliant hitter and holds the record for the fastest fifty in ODIs by an Indian in 21 balls against Zimbabwe. He is also one of the few Indian batsmen to score a century at the home of cricket, Lord’s.
He called time on his career in 2013 with 58 wickets in 26 Tests and 288 wickets in 191 ODIs. He also played in IPL for Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Daredevils.
As he celebrates his 41st birthday, Agarkar received wishes from cricket fraternity on Twitter.
