Ashwin's wife Prithi has also got a funny side like her husband.
Indian spinner R Ashwin got married to Prithi Narayanan in 2011, the same year when India lifted the World Cup. Prithi was Ashwin's crush during school days and the friendship between the two blossomed during their days in SSN College of Engineering in Chennai and it progressed into marriage.
It was November 13, 2011, when the couple tied the knot as per the traditional Tamil wedding customs. India was playing West Indies in a three-Test match series and Ashwin had to leave just after the first game. He, however, got married before the second Test and flew back to Kolkata.
Ashwin's wife Prithi hilariously revealed about their first night on Twitter when the couple celebrated sixth marriage anniversary last year in November. "This day 6 years ago,we were married and off to Kolkatta.I was advised by my kind family to "let him sleep"(as iffffff)because he had a game the next day.But the team had hidden alarms that went off through the night.Thankfully we batted the next day @ashwinravi99 #Iamchamathu ????," she wrote.

Prithi added, "And it was my first Test match EVER. I was so nervous and so excited. First fail moment came when I realized I couldn't recognise Ashwin on the field ????And here is this man already heading towards 300 wickets. Blessed."

Ashwin was the top wicket-taker in that series with 22 scalps. He was picked as the player of the series. Also, India won the series 2-0, with the third match ended in a tie.
