England ended day two on 213/8 in reply to Australia's 371 runs in 3rd Ashes Test in Adelaide.
On Day 2 of the Adelaide Test, England wicket-keeper Jamie Smith made two judgments with Snicko that enraged both teams. Such was the anger in the Australian camp that Mitchell Starc even called Snicko the worst technology out there.
His anger stemmed from a reprieve granted to Jamie Smith in England's 44th over. A fast delivery from Australian skipper Pat Cummins zipped past Smith's raised bat till it reached his shoulder. The Australians filed an appeal for a dismissal.
Smith's hands were lifted; thus, there was a chance the ball had kissed the glove on its way to the keeper. Usman Khawaja dived forward at slip to complete the catch.
At this time, on-field umpire Nitin Menon was unsure if Khawaja had taken the catch cleanly. So he sent the decision upstairs to seek assistance from the third umpire, even though the Australians had not requested a review of the on-field ruling.
Third umpire Chris Gaffaney declared it not out after replays revealed that there was a huge spike as the ball flew over Smith's head, but no spike on Snicko as it passed his gloves. The decision did not sit well with the Australians.
At that point, Starc begged to fire Snicko and was heard saying on the stump mic: “Snicko needs to be sacked… worst technology there is! They make a mistake the other day, they make another mistake today.”

Smith was dismissed two overs later, when he tried to play a pull shot off a Pat Cummins short ball and was caught behind by Alex Carey. Menon walked upstairs once more to see if Carey had accepted the catch.
This time, Snicko displayed a massive spike despite what appeared to be a huge space between bat and ball, much to the dismay of Smith and England captain Ben Stokes, who were at the other end. Smith had to walk back to the pavilion on 22 when Gaffaney ruled it out.
