The third Test between England and Australia will be played in Adelaide from December 17.
In the opening match in Perth, England was crushed in two days, and in Brisbane, they lost by eight wickets. Australia now needs victories in Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney to regain the Ashes after taking a 2-0 lead.
Before traveling to Adelaide for the third Test, which begins on December 17, the England team has been granted some time off.
“We have got a couple of days in Noosa, which will be good to spend a couple of days casually and let the dust settle on what has been a pretty intense couple of weeks and start to plot and plan our way back into the series," England head coach Brendon McCullum had said after the second Test.
According to sources, the vacation was planned before the start of the series, but with England in danger of losing the Ashes before Christmas, it has come under further scrutiny.
Throughout the visit, the Australian media have been closely monitoring England's off-field activities. They were photographed on golf courses and at an aquarium in Perth, and their failure to wear helmets while riding e-scooters made headlines in Brisbane.
“After gallivanting around golf courses in Perth and joyriding without helmets on E-scooters in Brisbane, England favored rest and relaxation for their latest mid-series break,” the article in The West Australian read.
During their four-night stay on the Sunshine Coast, the squad was informed of their profile and the possibility that cameras may be present. After buying Akubra hats together, a handful of players stand out in the crowd.s
The team will remain until Saturday, when they go to Adelaide for the third Test, having landed on Tuesday. Before the Test starts on December 17, they will train at the Adelaide Oval for three sessions starting on Sunday.
