Maaz Sadaqat took two wickets and made 79* as Pak Shaheens won by 8 wickets.
Pakistan Shaheens handed a drubbing to India A in their Asia Cup Rising Stars match in Qatar on November 16. Pakistan youngsters recorded an 8-wicket win over India A as Maaz Sadaqat shined with an all-round performance.
Despite 45 by Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and 35 by Naman Dhir, two wickets each by Saad Masood and Maaz Sadaqat ensured India didn’t get much on the board. In reply, Maaz Sadaqat hammered 79 in 47 balls to lead Pakistan Shaheens to an 8-wicket win in 13.2 overs.
Like it happened in the Asia Cup 2025 and the recent ICC Women’s World Cup, the captains of the India and Pakistan sides, Jitesh Sharma and Irfan Khan, didn’t shake hands at the toss. But a wild claim was made on social media that the India A team approached the Pakistani camp for handshakes but was rebuked by the Men in Green side.
“NO WAY. Indian players came to shake hands, but Pakistani players just walked away. India is getting a taste of its own medicine,” the X account user claimed.
However, a video emerged on social media showing what really happened after the match. It shows Pakistan Shaheens players and coaching staff celebrating wildly after their win over India A and shaking hands and hugging one another.
The Indian team, at no point, could be seen reaching out to the Pakistani players for a customary handshake.
