Babar scored 29 off 51 balls in the first ODI before being castled by Hasaranga.
Pakistan batter Babar Azam's dismal run in international cricket continued as he registered another low score during the first ODI against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi on Tuesday (November 11).
Batting at No. 3, Babar scored 29 off 51 balls with three boundaries before being knocked over by leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga’s wrong'un.
The dismissal unfolded in the 24th over of Pakistan’s innings. Hasaranga’s delivery landed outside off, drawing Babar forward. The ball then spun viciously to beat the inside edge and rattle the off-stump.
While Babar wore a perplexed look after getting castled, Sri Lanka coach Sanath Jayasuriya couldn’t hold back his excitement as he fist-pumped in the dugout.

Earlier, Babar Azam failed to make a mark in the three-match ODI series against South Africa, returning with scores of 7, 11, and 27.
It's not just in ODIs that he's struggling as, overall, the right-hander has now gone 83 international innings without a century. Babar’s last ton came against Nepal on August 30, 2023 during the Asia Cup.
