Jemimah Rodrigues played an all-time great knock to help India beat Australia in semis.
Jemimah Rodrigues had an excellent World Cup, with the highlight being her 127* against Australia in the semi-final of the tournament, where India chased down a world record 338 runs against the six-time World Champions, ending their unbeaten streak that began in the 2017 edition.
Before the World Cup final versus South Africa, Gavaskar told India Today that if India won, he would sing alongside Jemimah on guitar.
"If India wins the World Cup, she and I—if she's okay with it—will sing a song together. She'll have her guitar, and I'll sing along," Gavaskar said on India Today.
Now with India winning the trophy, Jemimah took to her Instagram and posted a musical video, reminding Gavaskar of his promise.
"Hi Sunil Gavaskar, sir, I saw your message. You said that if India wins the World Cup, we both will sing a song together. So I am ready with the guitar and hope that you are ready with your mic. Lots of love," Jemimah said in her video.
