Cummins chose eight Australian players in his all-time ODI XI.
Pat Cummins, Australia's Test and ODI skipper, will miss the next white-ball series against India owing to a back injury. The 32-year-old New South Wales pacer last competed against the West Indies in July 2025, and he is certain to miss the opening Test of the 2025-26 Ashes series against England in Perth.
Cummins was asked by Star Sports to select his all-time India-Australia combined XI ahead of the first ODI on Sunday (October 19), and he chose only retired players, eight from Australia and three from India.
Sachin Tendulkar and David Warner were chosen as openers with three-time World Cup winner Ricky Ponting at no.3. Cummins chose an entirely Australian middle order with Steve Smith, Shane Watson, and Michael Bevan.
MS Dhoni was chosen as the wicket-keeper, and legendary Shane Warne was chosen as the sole spinner. Cummins picked three legendary pacers, all World Cup winners, in Brett Lee and Glenn McGrath from Australia and Zaheer Khan from India.
