Former India all-rounder and 2007 T20 World Cup and 2011 World Cup winner Yuvraj Singh has sent a message that by not considering the likes of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan in India’s ODI plans, injustice is being done to their enormous talents.

While Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and Abhishek Sharma have not played ODIs yet, Ishan Kishan has played 32 ODIs, scoring 1107 runs with 2 centuries and 7 fifties at an average of 42.57 and a best score of 210.

"I would love to see him (Abhishek) in the ODIs, to be honest, and I have said this before that if we are not picking guys like Ishan Kishan, Abhishek, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in 50-over cricket, then somewhere down the line we are not doing justice to their talent," Yuvraj told PTI.

Yuvraj, though, said he realizes that having senior players in the team makes it somewhat difficult for younger players to get an opportunity.

"I understand we have some great players, and it is hard to make a spot for them. I think the way they (young batters) are performing, hopefully they should be in the squad soon. Whatever he (Abhishek) has achieved is because of his hard work, and the credit goes to him," he added.

Abhishek Sharma had played 71 T20Is, scoring 2267 runs with 4 centuries and 14 fifties at a strike rate of 196.61. On the other hand, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has made 295 runs in 10 T20Is for India, hitting 2 fifties at a strike rate of 185.53. Sooryavanshi made his India debut in T20Is at the age of 15 years against England recently, breaking Sachin Tendulkar’s record.
