Former England batter Geoffrey Boycott praised Team India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, calling him handsome and a nice person. He also called the India all-rounder a complete cricketer, who can do everything he likes in a cricketer.

In his most recent conversation, Boycott reiterated his earlier statement that Jadeja is his favorite current cricket player. The 37-year-old helped India win the series 1-0 after taking eight wickets in two Test matches against Sri Lanka.

"Jadeja, he bowls beautifully, his fielding is electric, and he can bat; he gets his head down and bats properly. And he is a handsome so-and-so. I met him for the first time recently. Last year I went to India, and I met him. I said, 'You are my favorite cricketer.' He said, 'No way,' and I said, 'Definitely.' Very handsome and a nice lad. Just a good cricketer, isn't he? All-round cricketer,” Boycott said on the Stick to Cricket podcast.

During the Sri Lanka Tests, Ravindra Jadeja became only the fourth cricketer and second Indian to amass 4,000 runs and 350 wickets in Tests, joining Ian Botham, Daniel Vettori, and Kapil Dev.

Earlier in the year, Geoffrey Boycott similarly praised Ravindra Jadeja, referring to the Indian all-rounder as his current favorite cricket player. The veteran of Team India, according to the former England batter, had every quality he looks for in a cricket player.

"I like Jadeja. I've always liked him; he's always in the game. Bowls left-arm spin, and his fielding is fantastic. I've always thought if you can do a really great job on the team, fine; become a great player and get your runs. But another quality isn't spoken about much. That is, through your performance, can you lift the others? And he fields so brilliantly with such energy. And he bats. Has a smile on his face but is tough inside. He's a top player and does everything I like about a cricketer—energy, smiles, toughness underneath, and competitiveness," Boycott had said on the Overlap Cricket YouTube channel.

Having made his India debut in 2009, Ravindra Jadeja has 7,580 runs and 642 wickets in 375 matches, including six centuries and 17 five-wicket hauls. He has been part of India’s 2013 and 2025 ICC Champions Trophy and the 2024 T20 World Cup wins.
