Former India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav met with Sri Lanka’s legendary cricketer Sanath Jayasuriya and made a funny quip after seeing how fit the former international captain was.

The two met at an event in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and in a viral video on social media, Suryakumar was seen greeting Jayasuriya during the event as both of them had a brief conversation.

The Indian batter made light of Jayasuriya's fit appearance and even sarcastically inquired as to whether he was hoping to return to the international scene.

"Getting fitter, trying to make a comeback? Looks like 100%," he said.

The video has gained popularity on social media, and the legend from Sri Lanka grinned in response to the remark.

Before India toured Ireland and England, Suryakumar, who guided India to the 2026 T20 World Cup, was stripped of the T20I leadership and removed from the team after a period of poor batting and scoring performance. Shreyas Iyer was appointed T20I captain by the BCCI.

Suryakumar Yadav can still return to the Indian team because he regularly scores runs in domestic cricket, a source from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) previously told ANI.
