Medhavi Bidhuri became famous for her unique celebration during a Women's DPL 2026 game.
With her peculiar "6-7" wicket celebration going viral on social media, Medhavi Bidhuri has swiftly emerged as one of the Women's Delhi Premier League 2026 talking points.
However, the Delhi leg-spinner now has a more intimate request: she wants to be followed on social media by India's greatest player, Virat Kohli.
After dismissing South Delhi Superstarz batter Nishika Singh during the opening match of the Central Delhi Queens event on August 20, Bidhuri created the celebration.
Despite her team's eventual defeat, the 20-year-old finished with statistics of 2/24. The celebration was especially appropriate because her No. 67 shirt matched the internet trend.
“I have got so many followers now, but I want a follow-back from him (Kohli). Virat Kohli, obviously, because he is from Delhi. And Mithali Raj is very patient. I have personally attended a lot of camps with her,” Medhavi said while speaking to journalists Ankita Mishra and Kunal Wahi.
Despite being in the same vicinity as Kohli, Bidhuri has never managed to meet the former India captain.
“I have never actually met Virat. I was working out at the DDCA when he was there too, but we couldn’t meet,” she added.
Bidhuri has attracted attention from the Women’s Premier League as well. She was amongst the players who registered for the WPL 2024 auction, but went unsold.
Bidhuri already knows where she wants to go if given the option to select her WPL location. Because of her adoration for Kohli, the leg-spinner has chosen Royal Challengers Bengaluru as her particular favorite.
“I would be happy if any team picks me, but my personal favourite is RCB because I know a lot of people there. Maybe it’s because of Virat as well, in fact,” she said.
Bidhuri played for South Delhi Superstarz in the 2025 DPL final, scoring 3/26 as they defeated Central Delhi Queens by one run to win the title.
Bidhuri has been a member of Delhi's domestic team for numerous years and has represented Delhi at the Under-19 level.
