Shoaib Akhtar played for Pakistan from 1996 to 2011.
According to Akhtar, Sachin Tendulkar is superior to every other batter in history. The renowned pacer, who had numerous memorable encounters with Tendulkar during his playing career in Tests and One-Day Internationals, stated that although he has seen many outstanding players, he still believes that the Indian batting legend is the greatest of all time.
“Sachin is the greatest batsman of all time. Period. Maine Viv (Richards) ko dekha nahi hai khelte hue, maine Imran (Khan) bhai ko dekha hai khelte hue, maine Wasim (Akram) bhai ko dekha hai khelte hue. Martin Crowe mere favourite the, Ricky Ponting mere favourite the, lekin Sachin has to be the greatest of all time. Vo bahut bade player hai, aaj bhi maanta hu," Akhtar said on the Pakistani show Hasna Mana Hai.
Akhtar was the first pacer in cricket history to officially break the 100-mph barrier and is often regarded as the fastest bowler in modern history. He played for Pakistan from 1996 to 2011 and played a huge role in Pakistan reaching the final of the 1999 World Cup.
Playing 46 Tests, Akhtar picked 178 wickets and took 247 wickets in 163 ODIs for Pakistan. He also played 15 T20Is, taking 19 wickets.
