WATCH- “Accha to chal raha hai”- Suryakumar’s witty reply to paparazzi saying ‘Bhai miss kar rahe hain'

Suryakumar Yadav led India to Asia Cup 2025 and T20 World Cup 2026 wins.

When a paparazzi told former Team India T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav that he was being missed during the current T20I series against England, Yadav responded candidly. The 35-year-old enquired inquisitively if the photographers were referring to him after hearing the same.

Suryakumar Yadav had taken over from Rohit Sharma as India T20I captain after Rohit retired from the format post the 2024 T20 World Cup win. He then led India to an absolutely dominant run in the bilaterals, never losing a series during his tenure.

India also won the Asia Cup 2025 in T20 format, and then Suryakumar led India to a record third ICC T20 World Cup win in 2026.

However, such brilliant accolades as captain, Suryakumar Yadav, the batter struggled during this tenure. He managed just 932 runs since becoming India captain at 25.88, with scoring a century. He made 3272 runs in 113 T20Is with a strike rate of 162.94, hitting 4 centuries and 25 fifties, with the best score of 117.

However, BCCI was intent on forming a fresh Indian team combination under a new leadership with the Olympics in 2028 and then the T20 World Cup the same year in Australia and New Zealand. Hence, they handed the captaincy to Shreyas Iyer. Iyer had won the IPL 2024 as KKR captain and took PBKS to the IPL 2025 final.

Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav was reminded how much he is still loved by fans as paparazzi showered him with affection, and one of the photographers told him he was being missed in the Indian team.

Surya then responded, rather jokingly, ‘Kyon accha toh chal raha hai’(Why? It’s all going good)’.
