RCB batted first and posted 254/5 with Rajat Patidar making 93*.
Legendary India player and ace commentator Ravi Shastri came in for some trolling for his awkward toss conversation during the IPL 2026 Qualifier 1. Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are facing off in Dharamshala for a chance to make it directly into the final of the IPL 2026.
During the toss exchange with captains Shubman Gill and Rajat Patidar, Shastri made a few mistakes that fans on social media pointed out. Even though the Gujarat Titans captain had already made it known that they would bowl first, Shastri unintentionally asked Gill what the team wanted to do after winning the toss.
Shastri has already erred when calling the toss during the 2026 Indian Premier League. The former India all-rounder made similar errors in earlier games this season, even claiming that the Gujarat Titans had qualified for the playoffs when they hadn't.

Shastri also falsely said that RCB had finished the league stage with 20 points in the Qualifier 1 on Tuesday, despite the fact that they ended with 18 points, tied with Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad.
Multiple fans pointed out many different errors Ravi Shastri made and shared their reactions on social media.

Meanwhile, RCB took the hammer to GT bowling as Rajat Patidar (93*), Virat Kohli, and Krunal Pandya with 43 each, and Devdutt Padikkal’s 30 took them to 254/5 in 20 overs. This is the highest score in an IPL playoffs game.
