Sri Lanka won the three-match series 2-1 against India on July 29.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Friday (July 30) announced a cash reward of US$ 100,000 for the National team to recognize their victory over India in the recent T20I series at home.
After losing the ODI series to India, Sri Lanka made a brilliant comeback in the T20I series; though they lost the first T20I, but went on to win two back to back games by 3 and 7 wickets respectively, thanks to Wanindu Hasaranga’s Player of the Series performance, to clinch the T20I series 2-1 on July 29.
In the final T20I, India suffered a horrendous batting collapse as they were restricted to 81/8 – their third-lowest T20I total – with Hasaranga taking 4/9 to ensure the T20I series victory for Sri Lanka.

SLC said in a statement: “The Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket lauded the effort of the players, coaches, and the support staff for bringing this much-needed victory, which it believes will augur well for the National team going forward.”
The board further added, “Hence, in order to recognize this victory, the Executive Committee of Sri Lanka Cricket decided to award a sum of US$ 100,000 for the National team.”
