Sandeep Warrier was on Sri Lanka tour as a back-up bowler in the Indian squad.
Tamil Nadu pacer Sandeep Warrier made his India debut on Thursday (July 29) against Sri Lanka. Sandeep received his India cap from bowling coach Paras Mhambrey ahead of the start of the third T20I and he got very emotional.
The veteran wicket-keeper batsman and Tamil Nadu captain Dinesh Karthik was extremely happy for Sandeep. Posting a tweet for the debutant, Karthik wrote he doesn't think anyone representing the country made him more happier than Sandeep's.

Warrier has been impressive in domestic cricket and he was among the backup bowlers on the Sri Lanka tour. The 30-year-old got an opportunity after Krunal Pandya tested positive and the players in his contact went into isolation.
"I don't think I've ever been happier for anyone representing the country. They say " God delays, never disappoints"," he wrote on Twitter.
Karthik further added that Sandeep deserves the opportunity as much as anyone who has represented the country. "Sandeep warrior You deserve it as much as anyone ever has, in representing their country. Go well sandy. God bless," he tweeted.
Sandeep bowled three overs and went for 23 runs with picking a wicket. India had posted a low total of 81/8 in 20 overs and Sri Lanka chased it down in the 15th over of the match by 7 wickets to win the series 2-1.
