Deepak Chahar played a match-winning knock against SL in second ODI.
Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad made an interesting revelation about Deepak Chahar on Twitter. Prasad firstly showered Chahar with praises and then revealed that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer was once rejected by former Team India head coach Greg Chappell.
Yes, the 28-year-old Rajasthan limited-overs captain was snubbed by the Australian coach at the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). Prasad took a sly dig at overseas coaches as he recalled Chappell rejecting Deepak Chahar for his height and was told to look at a different occupation at the time.
“Deepak Chahar Was rejected by Greg Chappell at RCA for his height and told to look at a different occupation. And he single handedly won a match with not even his primary skills. Moral of the story- Believe in yourself and don't take overseas coaches too seriously,” the 51-year-old wrote on Twitter.
“There are off-course exceptions but with such wonderful talent in India, it's time that teams and franchisees consider having Indian coaches and mentors as much as possible,” Prasad further wrote in another Tweet.

much as possible.
As far as Deepak Chahar is concerned, he played an exceptional knock of 69 not out off 82 deliveries with 7 boundaries and a maximum to take Men in Blue home and won the match for India by 3 wickets.
After the second ODI win, both the teams India and Sri Lanka will be going head-to-head in the final ODI of the series at R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday (23 July).
