Indian right-arm quick Deepak Chahar, who is currently making headlines after he won Team India a close encounter against Sri Lanka in the second ODI of the three-match series helping them take an unassailable 2-0 lead on Tuesday (20 July).

Former India pacer Venkatesh Prasad made an interesting revelation about Deepak Chahar on Twitter. Prasad firstly showered Chahar with praises and then revealed that the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) pacer was once rejected by former Team India head coach Greg Chappell.

Yes, the 28-year-old Rajasthan limited-overs captain was snubbed by the Australian coach at the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). Prasad took a sly dig at overseas coaches as he recalled Chappell rejecting Deepak Chahar for his height and was told to look at a different occupation at the time.

As far as Deepak Chahar is concerned, he played an exceptional knock of 69 not out off 82 deliveries with 7 boundaries and a maximum to take Men in Blue home and won the match for India by 3 wickets.

After the second ODI win, both the teams India and Sri Lanka will be going head-to-head in the final ODI of the series at R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Friday (23 July).
