Sanju Samson was ruled out of the first ODI against Sri Lanka on July 18.
Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor posted an update about India batsman Sanju Samson's injury on Twitter. Samson was ruled out of the first ODI versus Sri Lanka after he sustained a knee ligament injury during a training session.
Tharoor took to Twitter and wrote that he's happy to hear a positive update on Samson's injury. He is a huge admirer of the Kerala batsman and has often tweeted in support of him.

"Delighted to hear from Sri Lanka that @IamSanjuSamson has recovered from his strained knee ligament and that Thiruvananthapuram's finest will again be available for India! All the best, Sanju!", Tharoor tweeted who has been serving as Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha from Thiruvananthapuram since 2009.
Earlier, BCCI's medical team had confirmed that Samson has sustained a knee injury during the training session. "Sanju Samson sprained a ligament in his knee and was hence not available for selection for this game. The medical team is tracking his progress at the moment," BCCI's media team had stated.
Wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan made his ODI debut for India in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. He scored a half-century as India won the match by 7 wickets. It will be interesting to see if the team management slots Samson into the playing XI if he is available to play in the second ODI.
