Perera was Sri Lanka's captain on recent tour of England.
Sri Lanka wicketkeeper-batsman Kusal Perera will miss the upcoming limited-overs series against India starting on July 18 in Colombo due to shoulder injury.
Sri Lankan batting's mainstay is likely to be out of action for six weeks after picking up a shoulder injury recently.
Perera had recently captained Sri Lanka in England in the white-ball series, but ahead of the home series against India, he was reportedly replaced by Dasun Shanaka as the Lankan skipper because of his role in the central contract dispute between the players and Sri Lanka Cricketers (SLC).
Sri Lanka and India will play three ODIs starting on 18 July followed by a three-match T20I series from July 25.
Noteworthy, the 30-year-old Perera has so far played 107 ODIs and scored 3071 runs along with 1347 runs in 50 T20 Internationals.
