SL v IND 2021: Rahul Dravid to coach Team India in Sri Lanka, confirms BCCI secretary Jay Shah

Team India will be touring Sri Lanka for three-match ODI and as many T20I series in July.

Team India is scheduled to tour Sri Lanka in July for a limited-overs series in July. As a lot of senior pros are in England for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final followed by a five-match Test series against England, BCCI had announced a squad consisting of some talented youngsters.

Since the head coach Ravi Shastri along with Bharat Arun and Vikram Rathour is with the Indian team in England, it will be former India skipper Rahul Dravid coaching the young Indian side in Sri Lanka.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah has confirmed that former India skipper Rahul Dravid will coach the team in the limited-over series in the island country.

Rahul will be coaching the team for the Sri Lanka series,Shah told ANI.

This will be Dravid's second stint with Team India after working with them as a batting consultant during the England tour in 2014.

The Men in Blue side which will be traveling to Sri Lanka assembled in Mumbai on Monday and is undergoing seven days of hard quarantine. The players will then undergo seven days of soft quarantine with indoor training.

Team India leaves for Colombo on June 28 and will undergo 3 days of hard quarantine before training in quarantine till July 4. After that, they will be allowed to train normally.

The Shikhar Dhawan led Indian team will be taking field against Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, slated to begin from July 13, followed by a three-match T20I series scheduled from 21 July with all six matches to be played at R.Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
