Deepak Chahar took two wickets and played a crucial knock of 54 in the third ODI against South Africa.
Deepak Chahar was the star performer for India in the final ODI against South Africa on Sunday (January 23). He was not only successful with the ball but also displayed his extraordinary batting skills and played a crucial knock of 54 runs in just 34 balls.
Chahar’s fiancee Jaya Bhardwaj shared a beautiful appreciation post for the player after his all-round performance in match.
Taking to Instagram on Monday, Jaya shared a sweet note for Chahar. In her note, Bhardwaj spoke about her fiancee's hunger to perform for the Indian team as and when he gets an opportunity.
"Days are hard when you are playing and harder when you are not but the hard-work, dedication, passion and enthusiasm you show on and off field for this game is what truly makes you a champion. A sport as competitive as cricket, sometimes you win the game and sometimes not but your effort has made the whole country proud. You have shown that you are ready to win the toughest of battles for your country and your team... proud of you.. Jai Hind," she wrote.
Chahar was visibly emotional after his dismissal in the final ODI at Cape Town. The Indian pacer fought back his tears after his crucial half-century failed to rescue India from the defeat against the hosts. Deepak dismissed Aiden Markram and Janneman Malan in the 3rd ODI.
Former CSK pacer’s knock was a hope for the Indian side but his batting heroics went in vain as India lost the match by 4 runs to South Africa. Talking about Chahar’s all-round performance, head coach Rahul Dravid said that he would like to give more opportunities to Chahar in upcoming Indian team assignments.
