SA v IND 2021-22: "Best in the world across all three formats," Vaughan lauds Bumrah's heroics in Cape Town

Bumrah picked 5/42 in the first innings of ongoing third Test against South Africa.

Former English skipper Michael Vaughan heaped rich praise on Indian pacer Jasprit Bumrah for his heroics with the ball in the first innings of the ongoing third Test against South Africa in Cape Town, calling him the best in the world at the moment. 

After another poor performance with the bat in the first innings, bowlers yet again led the fightback for Team India and bundled out the hosts for 210 runs, helping their side take a slender lead of 13 runs. 

Jasprit Bumrah began the proceedings for his side after he removed South African skipper, Dean Elgar, during the fag end of Day 1 and then gave the perfect start to the visitors by removing Aiden Markram on the second ball of Day 2.

The pacer ran through South Africa batting line-up and claimed his seventh five-haul wicket in Tests and was well supported by Mohammad Shami and Umesh Yadav who took five wickets between them to put their team in a comfortable position. 

Jasprit Bumrah drew rich praises for his heroics and was lauded by many fans and pundits across the globe. Former English skipper Michael Vaughan joined in too as he took to his official Twitter account to praise the Indian pacer for his effort and called him the best in the world at the moment. 

“How good is @Jaspritbumrah93!” Vaughan wrote on Twitter. “I reckon across all formats he is the best in the World at the moment,” Michael Vaughan Tweeted. 

The third Test between South Africa and India is evenly poised at the moment. After posting 223 runs in their first innings, visitors bowled out the hosts for 210 runs, taking a lead of 13 runs. Even though they lost two wickets in their second essay, they are 70 runs ahead at stumps on Day 2.
