Jasprit Bumrah was out of action on Day 3 due to a twisted ankle, but he returned to bowling later.
India's captain Virat Kohli used a famous catchphrase of the WWE superstar The Rock when fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah returned to the field after an injury. Bumrah had twisted his ankle on Day 3 of the opening Test match against South Africa.
The 28-year old pacer had twisted his right ankle on his follow-through during the 11th over of South Africa's first innings. He went down in the follow-through and looked in pain while the physio Nitin Patel rushed to the ground.
It was an unpleasant sight for the team and the fans as Bumrah had to walk off the field for further treatment. Fortunately, the pacer returned back to the game after some time off the field and bowled again later in the day.
Bumrah was eligible to bowl at the end of the 60th over and Kohli welcomed him with the catchphrase of the Rock, “Finally, the Rock has come back.”
The Twitterati picked it up in the stump mic and it soon started trending among the cricket fans on social media. Bumrah picked up 2 wickets in the 7.2 overs he bowled in the first innings as India bowled out South Africa on 197 runs.
