The players will take 2-3 days to adapt to the high-altitude conditions in South Africa.
Indian cricket team have started their preparation for the upcoming Test series against South Africa. They spent a day playing footvolley to recharge themselves before starting their training session in Johannesburg.
The official Twitter account of BCCI shared the video with fans, in which the Indian players can be seen divided into two groups for a footvolley game. There were banters and leg-pulling as well during the game, as seen in the video.
India captain Virat Kohli and head coach Rahul Dravid were in different teams and they were spotted appreciating each other's game. Off-spinner R Ashwin, who's competitive in any sports he plays, was fighting for every point and he even had arguments with the other players.

The players had to stay in a three-day hard-quarantine in Mumbai before a 10-hour flight, and then they underwent another day of quarantine in South Africa after landing.
Team India's strength and conditioning coach Soham Desai said that the players will take 2-3 days to adapt to the high-altitude conditions. “We've had three days of hard quarantine in Mumbai, then a ten-hour long flight. Yesterday, too, we had a hard quarantine here.
"So, starting our skill sessions should've been a high risk for our guys. Today evening, we had a run, stretched out, squatted out, and this game (Footvolley) will help them bridge the gap between inactivity and skills. The schedule is such that we have to get going right away,” Desai said.
“We can do only so much to adjust to elevation here, which is 1400m, and we are coming from sea level. The guys will take 2-3 days to adapt to that.”
