India captain Bumrah won the toss and chose to field first.
Bumrah, who is also captaining the India team in this 3-T20I tour, won the toss and chose to bowl first. Rinku Singh and Prasidh Krishna made their T20I debuts for India.
The first over was bowled by the Indian captain who was hit for a four by Andy Balbirnie on the first ball itself. However, Bumrah made a stunning comeback, getting the ball to swing into the batter and the inside edge clattered into the stumps.
Lorcan Tucker survived a couple of balls, before getting fancy. He tried to scoop Bumrah over the fine leg, but only managed to lob the ball in the air, where keeper Sanju Samson took an easy catch to send the batter for a duck.
Bumrah ended the over with another inswinging delivery as Harry Tector defended it stoutly. Four runs came off the over for the loss of two wickets in a rocky start to Ireland’s innings.
