Rinku Singh said that he was emotional when he saw his name on the back of the Indian jersey. The southpaw recently earned a call-up to the Indian team for the three-match T20I series, which starts on Friday, August 18 at The Village in Dublin.
The Uttar Pradesh native was also picked for the Indian team for the Asian Games to be played in Hangzhou and his call-up came on the back of a sensational campaign for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL 2023).

On Thursday, August 17, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) uploaded a video where Jitesh Sharma interviewed Rinku.
“It’s a good feeling because every player’s dream is to play for India. When I saw my jersey No.35 after reaching my room, I became emotional. The thing I was working hard for was finally here,” Rinku told Jitesh in a BCCI video.
To celebrate his achievement of maiden India call-up, KKR posted a video on Instagram of Rinku wearing the India jersey in front of a mirror with AR Rahman’s ‘Maa Tujhe Salaam’ playing in the background.
“This part of our lives is called happiness”- KKR captioned the video.
