The T20I series against Ireland will mark Bumrah's comeback to international cricket.
Bumrah will lead the Indian side in the three-match T20I series, starting August 18. All the games will be played in Dublin.
The right-arm quick has been away from international cricket for almost a year now. He missed the Asia Cup 2022, the T20 World Cup 2022 and the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 season due to a recurring back injury.
Two days ahead of the first T20I against Ireland, BCCI shared a video on social platform X, in which Bumrah can be seen bowling with full intensity in the nets. He forced a right-handed batter to go down with a ferocious bouncer and then produced a toe-crushing yorker against a left-handed batter.
“The moment we have all been waiting for. @Jaspritbumrah93 like we have always known him,” BCCI wrote in the caption.
Jasprit Bumrah will be keen to prove his match fitness in the T20I series against Ireland. He remains a key player across formats and India would hope that the speedster returns to his very best ahead of the forthcoming Asia Cup and the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
