Asked to bat first, the hosts posted 184/5 in their stipulated 20 overs. Suryakumar Yadav starred with the bat, scoring 65 off 31 balls while Venkatesh Iyer (35* off 19 balls) and Ishan Kishan (34) chipped in with handy contributions.
Roston Chase (1-23) was the stand-out bowler for the West Indies, claiming one wicket by conceding only 23 runs in his four overs. Jason Holder (1-29) and Hayden Walsh (1-30) also bowled economically and returned with one scalp each.
In reply, the visitors managed 167/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Nicholas Nooran was the lone warrior with the willow as he scored 61 off 47 balls while no other batter managed to touch the 30-run mark.
For India, Harshal Patel was the pick of the bowler, claiming three wickets by conceding 22 runs in his four overs while other seamers like Deepak Chahar (2-15), Shardul Thakur (2-33), and Venkatesh Iyer (2-23) also finished with impressive figures.
