Virat Kohli scored 26 runs in the first two games against West Indies in Ahmedabad.
Batting great Sunil Gavaskar feels Virat Kohli is not going through a lean patch but instead just doesn't have the desired luck on his side.
Virat Kohli has looked off-colour in the ongoing ODI series against West Indies. The former Indian skipper scored just 8 runs in his short stay at the crease in the first game. In the second match, he failed to convert a good start and extended his century drought with an underwhelming score of 18.
He looked settled at the crease for his 30-ball stay and even hit three boundaries before nicking a delivery from Odean Smith to Shai Hope behind the wickets.

Speaking to Star Sports, Sunil Gavaskar said that luck is what Virat Kohli is missing. He while highlighting that luck is necessary for every batter to score runs remarked that the right-hander hasn’t had the best of it in the last matches.
"Luck (What is Kohli missing?). Every batter needs a bit of luck. Every batter needs a situation where he plays and misses an edge. Every batter needs a situation where he edges the ball and the catch is dropped or the ball falls short of the fielder.
“He hasn't quite had the best of luck in the last so many matches. Don't forget, he got the fifties in South Africa,” Sunil Gavaskar said.
Talking about Virat Kohli’s dismissal in the second ODI against West Indies, Ian Bishop said that Odean Smith set up the right-hander's dismissal wonderfully.
He highlighted that Kohli had prepared himself for the big shot but he was being pushed back and the pacer bowled in a lovely area to invite a fullish drive.

"I thought they (West Indies pacers) bowled well to Virat Kohli. They did not overdo the short-ball bit. Odean Smith set it up wonderfully, the way he pushed Kohli back and then got a fuller delivery.
“Kohli looked to set himself up for a big one and then he got that one after being pushed back. Smith bowled it in that lovely area, inviting a drive but not fullish enough to play the shot. I thought that was good bowling," Ian Bishop said.
It remains to be seen if Virat Kohli will end his century drought in the final ODI against West Indies or not. The dead-rubber third match will be played on Friday (11th February) at the same venue.
