Suryakumar Yadav scored 112* helping India win the 3rd T20I and the series as well.
India scored 228/5 after Hardik Pandya won the toss and chose to bat first. Suryakumar Yadav starred with 112* in 51 balls with 7 fours and 9 sixes, while Shubman Gill made 46 and Rahul Tripathi smoked 35 in 16 balls.
In reply, Sri Lanka could only manage 137 runs and lost the match by 91 runs, resulting in India winning the three-T20I series 2-1.
It was an amazing start to the year 2023 for Suryakumar, who was the leading run-scorer in T20Is last year with 1164 runs in 31 innings. He notched up his maiden century against England in Nottingham in July 2022 before scoring a scintillating 111 off 51 balls against New Zealand on India’s limited overs tour to New Zealand in November.
Meanwhile, Drew McIntyre, the WWE wrestler, took to Twitter to praise the Indian batter by posting: “A third T20i ton in six months ? SKY is a machine.”
This is not the first time McIntyre has shared his admiration for Suryakumar Yadav. He had done the same a few more times previously as well, notably when Yadav scored a century against New Zealand in the T20Is.
McIntyre had posted: "My man Sky Yadav coming through again. Best T20 player in the world right now!"
And before this, Suryakumar had received praise from the two-time WWE Champion when Suryakumar had played a scintillating knock against Zimbabwe in the T20 World Cup 2022 in Australia, scoring 61 runs in just 25 balls.
Suryakumar will next be seen in the three-ODI series which begins on January 10th in Guwahati.
