Kohli scored 23 and 13 in the Bengaluru Test.
Virat Kohli's fans, particularly those in Bengaluru, who attended the ongoing Pink-ball Test were left disappointed as the former Indian captain could only manage scores of 23 and 13 on his return to the home ground of his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
Kohli, for the second time in the match, was dismissed lbw with the ball staying low. The Bengaluru pitch has been a talking point for the experts with 25 wickets falling in the first five sessions. There has been considerable turn on offer for the spinners and batters have found it difficult to adjust against the pink ball which skids faster onto the bat.

Kohli could only rue his bad luck as he was dismissed in similar fashion by Dhananjaya de Silva in the first innings and Praveen Jayawickrama in the second.

As a result of Kohli's twin failures in his 101st Test for India, his average has now dipped below 50 to 49.95, for the first time since August, 2017, after his 60th Test. This reflects how difficult he has found to churn out big scores of late, as his last hundred came against Bangladesh in 2019.
The great batter will now hope for a good IPL 2022 tournament with RCB to find his touch ahead of a packed cricket season with the Indian team.
