Virat Kohli will be playing his 100th Test against Sri Lanka in Mohali.
Indian head coach Rahul Dravid on Wednesday (2nd March) recalled playing alongside Virat Kohli in his debut Test. He praised the former skipper for carrying the team for a long time and called him one of the greatest players.
Virat Kohli has been the most versatile player going in world cricket. The right-hander ever since he joined Team India has developed himself into one of the main batters for the Indian cricket team in all the formats of the game.
Over the years, Kohli has displayed some sensational batting performances which have seen him getting compared to Sachin Tendulkar and many other batting greats. He is the only batter in world cricket who has a 50+ average in all three forms of the game.

Virat Kohli has tasted a lot of success and is still breaking numerous records along the way and perhaps also the best Test captain India has ever produced.
Ever since he took charge of the Test team, he set new standards in Indian cricket and made the Indian side one of the most dominant sides in world cricket today. The 33-year-old insisted on a fearless attitude in the players that have helped the team reach new heights in world cricket.
The Delhi-born batter is now all set to play his 100th Test match. The right-hander will become only the 12th Indian player to achieve this feat when the Rohit Sharma-led side will lock horns against Sri Lanka in the first Test on 4th March in Mohali.
Speaking in a video posted on BCCI’s Twitter handle, India head coach Rahul Dravid remembered the first Test he played alongside Virat Kohli, lauding the latter for his growth "as a cricketer and a person" since then.
The batting legend said Kohli has "carried" the team for years and called him "one of India's greatest."
“When he played his first Test match I was batting alongside him. It has been incredible to see how he has grown over the last 10 years or so. The way he has grown as a cricketer and a person. He has carried this team for a long time, been the captain for the last five or six years of the last 10 years he has played in.
“He has always delivered, averages over 50 in 100 Test matches. It is a great achievement for one of India’s greatest players. Just looking at his fitness and where he is, he has a lot more to go and I am sure it is not something that he will be satisfied with,” Rahul Dravid said.
Dravid further lauded Virat Kohli for his fantastic achievement and said it is something that the veteran batter can be proud of.
“It is not easy to play 100 Test matches. Test cricket is not easy. To be able to play one is great, to be able to play 100 is a fantastic achievement. It is something Virat Kohli can be proud of,” he said.
