IND v SA 2022: WATCH- Kuldeep Yadav recreates famous Babar Azam dismissal; clean bowls clueless Aiden Markram

The first ODI between India and South Africa is being played at Lucknow.

Indian left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav was at his bamboozling best in the first ODI against South Africa at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on October 6, 2022, as he dismissed Aiden Markram clean bowled, which reminded fans of his dismissal of Babar Azam in 2019 World Cup.

India won the toss and chose to bowl first in a rain-reduced 40 overs-per-side encounter. Ravi Bishnoi and Ruturaj Gaikwad made their debuts for India.

Janneman Malan was the first wicket to fall, getting out caught by Shreyas Iyer for 22 off Shardul Thakur. Thakur then bowled Proteas captain Temba Bavuma with a beautiful in-dipper for 8 runs.

Much was expected from Aiden Markram, who had impressed in the T20I series recently. But Kuldeep Yadav got the best of him. On the last ball of the 17^th over, Kuldeep Yadav got a ball to spin viciously in towards Markram.

The batter stretched forward to defend the ball, but it sneaked through the minute gap between his bat and pad, hit his pad a bit, and clattered into the off stump. Markram failed to open his account.

Meanwhile, this dismissal reminded the fans of the delivery that Kuldeep bowled to Pakistan’s Babar Azam when India and Pakistan clashed in the 2019 World Cup in Manchester. Kuldeep had bowled a similar stock delivery to Babar, who misread the spin and defended half-heartedly, only for the ball to get past him and disturb the timber.
