Bumrah has reportedly suffered a stress injury to his back and will report to NCA shortly.
Jasprit Bumrah complained of back pain ahead of the first T20I against South Africa and Cricbuzz reported that the physios and the medical staff of the Indian team have informed the BCCI that he cannot be considered for the remaining two matches of the South Africa series and asked him to report to the NCA.
A recurring back problem is the cause of his latest injury. NCA staff will begin a fresh investigation as Bumrah is expected to report to them on Friday. The board officials and team management are hoping that the injury is not too serious and he can heal before India's first match in T20 World Cup against Pakistan on October 23.

Coming to the South Africa T20Is, selectors will be naming a replacement, which is likely to be Mohammed Siraj.
And for the T20 World Cup, India has the option of Mohammad Shami who is one of the reserve players and in all probability, will replace Bumrah in the main squad.
Shami had missed the Australia and South Africa T20I series due to Covid but recently shared that he had recovered from the same.
