Team India are trailing 1-0 in the five-match T20I series.
The Rishabh Pant-led side failed to defend the massive total of 211 as the visitors rode on brutal half-centuries from Rassie van der Dussen (75* off 46 balls) and David Miller (64* off 31 balls) to get over the line.
For the second T20, scheduled for June 12, both the teams have reached Cuttack and fine-tuning their skills in the nets.
There is also a lot of excitement among the Cuttack fans for the match as they turned up in huge numbers to watch the Indian players’ practice session on the eve of the match.
Taking to Twitter, BCCI shared a couple of posts, showing the passion of the fans. In the post having pictures, skipper Rishabh Pant, all-rounder Hardik Pandya, batter Shreyas Iyer and speedster Umran Malik featured while training.
“Match day feels on a non-match day. A packed stadium here in Cuttack to watch #TeamIndia train,” the caption read.
In another post, the Indian cricket board uploaded a video, in which Pant and Pandya were seen hitting big shots with the capacity crowd cheering from the stands.
“Some cracking hits from the Captain and Vice-captain get the crowd going,” BCCI captioned the video.
