Malik was called up in the Indian team for SA T20I series.
Malik impressed all experts and cricket fans with his ability to bowl tearaway fast and clocked the fastest ball of the league stage of the IPL 2022 at 157 kph while averaging over 150 clicks consistently. He also picked 22 wickets in 14 matches with best of 5/25 with an economy of 9.03.
Along with Arshdeep Singh, Umran was one of the two uncapped players to be selected in the Indian team for South Africa T20Is which will be played from June 9 to June 19.
Meanwhile, Umran’s mentor and former India cricketer Irfan Pathan shared a video of him and Abdul Samad celebrating Umran Malik’s inclusion in Indian team with the man himself by cutting a cake.
